THOROS

At New Romney Counselling Services, we are passionate about the benefits of counselling and improving mental wellbeing. In addition to our counselling service, we also have an educational facility called Thoros, which teaches accredited counselling courses and in addition, runs CPD workshops and specialist training workshops for Counsellors. Thoros has achieved a rating of ‘outstanding’ by an external Assessor for the National Counselling Society.

Thoros was cofounded in 2003 by Rosalind Russell who as principal, works with a dedicated team of Tutors to deliver a high quality, friendly and relaxed learning experience. NRCS has a long association with Thoros and has for many years provided placement opportunities for Thoros students undertaking the Diploma in professional counselling Level 4 (Equivalent). In September 2021 NRCS acquired Thoros, which will continue to offer highly competitively priced, counselling courses.

Thoros Philosophy is based on a passion for inspiring others to develop from the experience of study and to be enabled to exceed their expectations. We believe in the importance of providing a safe, welcoming environment for deep exploration, creativity, understanding, action, and acceptance in every aspect of each individual’s professional and personal growth.

We offer the following courses which are quality checked and accredited by NCS (National Counselling Society).

• First steps in counselling Level 2 (Equivalent)

• Next steps in counselling Level 3 (Equivalent)

• Accredited Diploma in professional counselling Level 4 (Equivalent)

• Diploma in counselling supervision Level 6 (Equivalent)

 

The unprecedented, recent Pandemic, has had a big impact on the Nations mental health, bringing forward a greater acceptance and increased awareness that everyone can experience issues which may adversely affect mental wellbeing. The need for counselling has never been greater and training to become a counsellor is such a worthwhile qualification to achieve. Using your knowledge, skills, personality and personal approach to counselling to help others, is a privilege which provides a deep sense of satisfaction and a uniquely, emotionally rewarding experience.
